Hand made paper, made by Moulin de Larroque in the Dordogne, France. Wove. Off-white. 100% cotton. Internally sized. 400 gramm paper, although the real weight can vary because it is difficult to have the same weight for every sheet, when working with a deckle and edge. "Satiné" (= cold rolled between two rollers to flatten the surface.) Suitable for intaglio, typography, paper art, book art, embossing, etc. The surface is soft and has a clear wove structure. Because of the thickness of the paper, in spite of the rough surface, the paper can be used for intaglio very well. Because of the pressure during printing, the paper will be smoothened even more. The paper embossement will be clearly visible. The water, used during the process is extremely pure and pH neutral. The paper is too heavy to be sent as a roll. The name "aquarelle" (water colour) has nothing to do with the application, it is just a name.
