At this time two different workshops are being offered: Once a month, on a sunday; etching zinc with copper sulphate (Bordeaux-etching, Saline-etching) and printing with "water-based" Intaglio inks (Akua-Intaglio inks) Once a year, a fiver day workshop; photopolymer film, printing with "water-based" Intaglio inks (Akua-Intaglio inks) , digital imaging, acrylic based etching grounds, etc. The planning for the workshops, when it takes place, is done in cooperation with the participants. Programme's: One day workshop etching zinc with copper sulphate (Bordeaux-etching, Saline-etching) and printing with "water-based" Intaglio inks (Akua-Intaglio inks) Filip le Roy (professor printmaking at Anderlecht Belgium) will present this worpshop. This workshop takes place, on a sunday, at Polymetaal (Evertsenstraat 69 C in Leiden, Holland.) Normally this workshop takes place once a month, if there are five participants, a suitable date will be chosen. We try to keep the cost low. The price for this one day workshop will be approx. 105 Euro (excl. 19% VAT) ( Euro 125,-- incl. VAT ), including basic material you will need during the workshop. The language during the workshop is normally Dutch, but it depends on the participants. Filip can also teach in English and French. Morning (9.00 - 12.30) General introduction "non-toxic Intaglio" Explanation and demonstrations; etching grounds, aquatint, making the Bordeaux Etch Solution. Training by the participants: Preparation of the plate Applying various etching grounds. Drawing and etching various test plates Afternoon (13.30 - 18.00) Explanation of "water based inks" (Akua Intaglio) Demonstration Training by participants Wiping and printing the plates. You can use your own plates to print with Akua Intaglio Five day workshop photopolymer film, "water-based inks Akua Intaglio, digital imaging, acrylic etching grounds, etc. This workshops takes place at least once a year. About 12 people can join. In cooperation with interested persons a suitable week will be chosen. This workshop also takes place in Leiden. We try to keep the cost low.
