Dutch mordant
An acidic etchant used with copper, made up from hydrochloric acid and potassium chlorate. (Electro-etch). check also attacking agents and mordant
According to Béguin the Dutch mordant of Rembrandt had the following ingredients:
1 ltr. water
125 cm3 of hydrochloric acid
25 gr potassium chlorate
25 gr table salt
