stencil
- Piece of paper, board or sheet metal in which letters or designs are cut out
for reproduction on a flat surface by means of a paint brush.

- Duplicating stencil; Cyclostyle paper; stencil paper. Paper of a special
structure impregnated and/or coated with a suitable preparation for the reproduction,
by means of suitable equipment, of textual matter or patterns which have been
impressed on it in such a manner as to permit the passage of an appropriate ink.
The impression is generally obtained by means of the type of a typewriter, by hand
with a special stylus or by a photomechanical process, Also called wax stencil.
