Etching ground B.I.G. (Baldwin's Intaglio Ground)

This etching ground is supplied in tubes of 75 ml, red or black, chosen on the basis of the material to which the etching ground is applied (black for copper, red for zinc, aluminium and steel). BIG is a varnish, based on resin, oil and pigments, which is applied with a roller. The etching grounds does not harden as it is and can therefore be used as a soft ground. By heating the etching ground, the etching ground becomes hard and can be used as a hard etching ground. After etching, it can be removed with hot water and washing powder. The etching ground is harmless.. |
