4. Intaglio-Type Quick Guide

  1. Cut plate to intended size.
  2. Sand plate with 320 grit wet and dry sandpaper.
  3. Wipe with dry clean cloth.
  4. Laminate film to plate.
  5. Heat set the film for 1 minute.
  6. Expose the film to positive.
  7. Still develop for 9 minutes.
  8. Rinse under room temperature running water.
  9. Spritz with vinegar.
  10. Heat set for ten minutes in a drying cabinet (50° C = 122° F), or hot plate set at 65° C or 150 °F.)
  11. The plate is now ready to proof.
