The other day we found 3 lamps for ultraviolet exposure purposes. It is the familiar Philips HPR lamps. Used during several decades for screenprinting, Toyobo plates, photopolymer films, etc. The bandwidth of the UV light is such that it can be used for any UV exposure. Unfortunately Philips stopped making these lamps many years ago. Nowadays LED-UV lamps are used, but the wavelength ( 395-400 nanometer ) is such that it not suitable for all UV-exposure techniques. The lamp comes with a ballast. The ballast and lamp are connected in series to the 230 V mains. The ballast shows the symbol how to connect it. Please realize that the lamps needs "warming up" for about 10 minutes, to work full strength. The lamp is fragile, so please handle with utmost care. |
