Hot plates

Hot plates are normally used to warm up the etching plate during the inking process, or to facilitate the application of the etching ground. For this purpose a temperature range of 30-110° C (86-230°F) is largely sufficient.

The VTS-hot-plates have another use; melting rosin dust powder or asphaltum powder, for making an aquatint. The temperature range is 30 - 190° C (86-374°C). To use the VTS hot plate in the most efficient way; cover it with a cover; less heath will be lost and the heattransfer to the metal etching plate is better.
