Above is an enlarged side view of the KF95MC photopolymer plate. The number 95 refers to the thickness of the photopolymer in mm. The other letter designations concern the type of backing and other properties of the plate. The total thickness of the plate is 1.2 mm. The backing is a thin transparent plastic plate. Not magnetic, so this plate cannot be clipped onto a magnetic plate in a "sink" A transparent plastic plate also has a number of advantages for the graphic artist:

• You can easily cut it to size yourself with a Stanley knife. The steel sheet backing of a KM95GR sheet can only be cut properly with sheet metal shears.
• The plate is transparent. There are probably a number of creative advantages to be gained from this in lighting, register, etc. This plate is individually wrapped in black plastic to prevent unwanted exposure.
