Dry Points, Friedrich Dick
Used for drawing lines in sheet metal, creating a recessed line and a burr along the line. During inking, both the line and the burr will retain ink, giving the print the typical character of a drypoint; ‘ragged lines’ as opposed to the lines of an engraving or a line etching. The lines of a line etching can also be slightly ragged, but this is mainly due to the aggressive etching of the etching agent. |
